I will be the first to admit that I am the last one to make new year goals or rather the last one to adhere to them. Every year I make a lengthy list and every year I do not stick to it. I think part of the problem is that I make generic goals like “be healthy” or “exercise more” — what does that even mean? How much is more? or what qualifies as healthy. So, this year I am doing something different.
I am making more specific, monthly goals.
Here is my list of 10 goals that I want to achieve in January. I will do a blog post at the end of the month to report on how many of them I have actually stuck to.
1. Cook a meal at home once a week.
I have been eating out every day for the past few months and I want to change that.
2. Launch my etsy store
Something is in the works right now that The Luptons are excited about!
3. Learn one new recipe from my mother
This goal will feed into my goal #1. I recently learned how to boil a perfect egg from my mom and it was a game changer.
4. Do yoga twice a week.
I started doing yoga in November 2015 and love it so far! I want to improve my practice.
5. Read The Sun Also Rises
I have got Hemingway fever.
6. Blog once a week
I used to be really good at this but now there just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day.
7. Do one book review a month
Also another one of those things that I used to be great at but now can’t seem to get to.
8. Try out a new cafe per month
Both C & I love coffee / tea!
9. Write in my diary every morning
I tried this for a bit in 2015 and it is amazingly therapeutic and gives me a great head start for day / week.
One generic goal is allowed right? :p
