The Uninspired Chronicles

So as you might have noticed, I have been away for a while and while I should have posted the picture above way earlier, I’ll admit that, I have been extremely lazy and, also, I seem to have lost my mojo but drawing that picture brought it back 😀 *does a little dance but not a long one, no sir!*

I have been so uninspired that it inspired me to come up with ‘The uninspired chronicles”. For the month of April, I am going to be posting about how I overcame have been trying to overcome the creative funk.

In order to get back my MOJO, I have tried several things,

1) Watched contemporary theatre

2) Read more from Indie Authors

AND

3) Painted my own house and tried my hands on photoshop (The former is easier)

Here’s the thing, I want you guys to get involved and do a post about how you overcome the creative funk. Simply use ‘The Uninspired Chronicles’ tag and link it back to this post. I will send one of you guys a care package (or maybe I will give out more things to more people, depending on the participation levels) and I am hoping that all of you will get involved so that this thing will be more fun. Happy blogging!

P.S: For those of you who do not have a wordpress account, you can post on other blogging sites as well! Just remember to link it back to this post and I feel really shameless saying this but follow my blog so you’ll be notified when I pick a winner.

Be creative! Videos, Infographics, pictorials, poetry, write ups e.t.c are all welcome

and and and…

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a blog, email the entry to me at ‘riatarded@gmail.com’ -No excuses-

DEADLINE : 15 May 2012
P.S: I will be posting a post today about the give aways! Thank you to all who have participated and keep spreading the word! Thank you so much and you guys are awesome x

  1. What ambitious ways to re-ignite your inspiration! I also go through periods of being “uninspired,” and times when I am so challenged to find time to sit and write that I just don’t do it. I don’t want to find myself posting just to say I haven’t missed a day (or a week!) on my blog. I know some people are able to blog every day, and even do a great job with that very regular schedule. But that’s not me, and I’ve come to terms with that. I’ve chosen to NOT turn something I enjoy into a chore, or another to-do that makes me begin dread doing it!

Hope you find your mojo soon! Seems like you’re on the right track! ~ Sheila

    • hey Sheila!

I hope that you will be taking part in the making of The Uninspired Chronicles! 🙂

haha yes we shouldn’t make it a chore but we also shouldn’t turn our blogs into a carcass floating around online right? 🙂

      x

  2. As I mentioned in response to your comment on my blog (thank you, by the way!), my “funk” is presently more in finding the time. You’d think I’d have lots of it now that I’m jumping into this writing thing full-time, but as you know, social media eats into that time (but it is fun, so I will keep doing it!). Not to mention family and, well, life in general. I’ve saved this post–might come up with something after some thought. Great idea to get other blogs involved!

  3. Normally, I’ve got about as much mojo as an Andy Williams Christmas Special rerun, but I’m gonna give this challenge my best shot anyway!

And yes, I’ll also make sure that whatever I post has some Bobby Darin included as well.

    Thanks for the invite!

  5. It happens to all of us. But don’t think of your ‘down-time’ as wasted time. I call it ‘filling the well.’ That’s where the good stuff comes from. Just keep going. Every day means something. You may not know what it is now…but it all counts. Keep going. I mean, writers have no choice.

    • Hahah Donna I just doodled and came up with a story! Whoopa! *That shall be my new catch phrase* I feel like a ninja!

It will be awesome if you could take part and tell your friends to! Stay awesome!

  7. Oh, how fun! I will definitely participate. This week something finally came within me and I can’t write enough. It’s not great pose, but it’s on paper, and that’s a victory!

Thanks for letting me know about this!

  10. Hi there Lovely,

thank you so much for inviting me to this – flattered for sure 😉

I’d really love to participate, but I’m not really doing a lot of posting right now (except for the daily-post-commitment-thingy I got myself into), soooo I’m not sure, I’ll be able to get my ass up and moving in time – Sorry. 🙂

However, if the creative muse does happen to bite me in the afore mentioned lazy butt, I’ll be sure to link back to your post here 😉

Cool idea: Kudos! (Oh and I would find working with photoshop a LOT easier than painting a single room, let alone a whole house! You rock!)

    Kisses, K.

    • Hi K!

You could do a pictorial! That could be a lot of fun! and also something different! You know the saying, “when words fail you, try the pictures!”

Ok actually there is no such saying I just made that up 😀

Painting the house was fun! More on that real soon!:)

      love,

  11. hmmmmmm, challenge accepted. i will do something on that real soon. and i want to read your hunger games post, but i’m probably going to see it tonight, so i don’t want to ruin it!!

also, carry a notebook around. do you do that already? because you’ll have good ideas in the strangest places and if you always have an nb with you – you’ll never run out of good creative ideas… but, more on that soon…

    • Mother, mother, mother!

Thank you for dropping by! Did you like the Hunger Games? was it nice?

I don’t carry a notebook around, just my phone! But I think you do have a point because sometimes I just want to doodle!

So excited that you are onboard! Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve!

    • hahahha that made me smile! You caught me! :p

I am working on my own entries as well though 🙂

I hope that you will take part! x

  31. I can still play? Even though I just got here? *blinks, adorably*

If I can, here’s my thingie…it’s called “Meta”

“writing a poem is easy. just tear out a piece of soul…a nice big one, about two heart-widths should do…and lay it flat on a hot anvil for about thirty seconds or until it stops screaming. then ready your words…be sure to shake thoroughly, or they’ll run…and take care to choose fresh thoughts, as even a hint of staleness will rip your soul. pour carefully into the needle, letter by letter, watching for excess air bubbles and intruding speech bubbles. take your prepared soul, inject words, throw result against nearest wall until it feels “right”…and there you have it. fresh poetry. (poem should stay fresh until the moment someone reads it…afterward, dispose of carefully in an appropriate facility, as words can be toxic)”

    • Hello Ria 🙂

Thanks for posting on my behalf and I’m also full excited about this post. I hope it helps as many as bloggers to overcome the writer’s block.

  39. Aaargh! Deadline is today & I’ve only come by this. What an inspired idea! I think it’s great. Marvellous.

Hope it went well, & it got you rolling.

When I can’t write – and it DOES happen,I get things done that I’ve been putting aside because I’ve been writing BUT ALL THE MEANWHILE, I’m thinking of my piece, what I want to say, where I can pick it up again. That works for me.

    Cheers!

  40. I’m such an idiot. Such an idiot. I forgot. I’m such an idiot. I’m passed the deadline and I haven’t even made one! You asked me so many times yet I forgot. See, I’m being stupid right now and I feel terrible! 😦 Oh, please forgive my soul. I did not mean for this to happen to such a sweet person like yourself! I’m a horrible person 😦 How could I ever repay you?

  41. I need to beg forgiveness, too. I had plans to do this the first week of May, but my doctor sent my laptop home and told me it was not welcome at the hospital. I think he takes himself far too seriously.
