Being thankful

Many a times I find myself in a situation whereby I am asked what I’m thankful for. It is one of those questions that I find really hard to answer because quite frankly there is just too much to be thankful for.

There are so many things that we rant or crib about everyday but take a moment to take a look around and to see how many rights there are in your life before you start complaining about the wrongs.

So here is a list of things that I am thankful for and then I want to know what YOU are thankful for (:

I am thankful for… my grammy telling me, when I broke my tooth and thought that I was ugly, that ugly ducklings turn into beautiful swans.

I am thankful for… my mom being alright and coming back home from the hospital.

I am thankful for… being with you.

I am thankful for… my family.

I am thankful for… knowing that everything will be ok in the end.

I am thankful for… having a warm meal waiting for me when I get back home.

I am thankful for… having clothing on my back and a shelter above my head.

I am thankful for… having so many people in my life who really do give a crap about me and are willing to put up with my eccentricities. Seriously, how do you guys do that?!

I am thankful for… the summer and the winter and the spring and the fall. Wheeee! (changing weathers do make me unusually happy! :D)Β

I am thankful for… being able to express myself using words, I don’t know what on earth I will do without that!

I am thankful for… being alive and for being in good health.

I am thankful for… everything that has happened in my life so far and events that have made me the person that I am today. I know that I crib and complain about things at times (ok many times… sometimes even during the same day ;)) but I know that God has a plan.

I am thankful for… having YOU GUYS in my life!

Seriously though, I find a lot of things and people cute and adorable. I don’t know why is that but it just is! and I guess I am thankful for that too! πŸ˜€

But enough about me! What are you thankful for?Β

P.S: TTC, I have got a bone to pick with you! I am not thankful for you! STOP breaking down already! >.< NOT COOL!

  1. I Am Thankful For A Life, For A Food, For Having My Complete Conscious In Myself, For Having Parents, For Having Parents Who Are Really Great, For Having Another Food, For Having Shelter And Clothes, For Having A Sense Of Humor Which Lasts Forever, For Having Thoughts, For Being A Muslim, For Water, For More Water.
Plus, I’m Thankful For Everything, I Just Have A Tendency To Rant More. :p

Plus Plus, Is It Grammy Or Granny?

    • haha you seem like a very happy person! which is AWESOME:D

I think it can be both! Most people say Granny but I used to call mine grammy. May her soul rest in peace. (:

  2. This is incredibly uplifting and cute. ^_^

But seriously, what am I thankful for? I’m thankful that – despite all of the problems I’ve had in my life – I’ve had friends who’ve been there for me no matter what; people who have defended me, taken care of me, and loved me even when I didn’t deserve to have them in my life. I’m thankful for love and friendship, and I always will be.

  3. Love your many beautiful thoughts. Grammy is what I called mine and my grandkids call me. But there are many lovely ways to refer to that person in your life. I’m grateful I can see nature whenever I walk out my door – a dove taking up residence in a palm tree to hatch little ones – and large birds on the water. I’m also grateful for all the wonderful people in my life.

  4. This was really a timely post for me. I was just feeling low and getting depressed. Sometimes it feels like the weight of the world is my shoulders. Thanks for giving me some much needed perspective today!
I’m thankful for creative, eccentric bloggers like you. : )

    • My sentiments exactly! My grammy was the first one to tell me that story and I am gonna tell it to my kids as and when I have them πŸ˜€

There is such a great lesson in it! πŸ™‚

    • That’s a mighty fine thing to be thankful for! ❀

I hope that you will continue to be thankful for it! Stay awesome!

  5. What a lovely post. It is so important to remember the good things we have, material or non-material. Every day I try to remind myself how lucky and thankful I am to live in a country where my family and I do not have to worry about our house being bombed or being arrested for saying the wrong thing or some other human right denial. I will be even more thankful when the whole world can experience that.

    • Thank you Carrie!

Spot on! We are fortunate enough to be living in countries that allow us to practice our human rights! Some people don’t even have that! Ironical isn’t it?

  6. I’m thankful for my brother, a couple of friends and WordPress because without people like you I’d have surely hung myself long ago!

  7. I’m thankful I stumbled upon your site, and I’m thankful for simply adorable oversized glasses!

I’m also thankful that you’ve been helping me with my dad =]

    • That’s so true Nelle!

I am thankful for having the courage to do things and to make decisions. Thank you for bringing that up! ❀

  8. I am thankful for Grooveshark.com that our IT forgot to block in my work PC. It keeps me sane all throughout the week. πŸ™‚

I lurve all the images. Especially you in big glasses. That nose demands to be pinched, too!

    • hahah and thanks to you now I know about something new! Had no idea what that was!

hahah come over then! πŸ˜€ Seriously though, if you are ever in Canada, do tell me! ❀

  9. I’m thankful for the end of the school year. It’s been a tough one for the kids and they earned a summer off! I’m thankful for a keeper of a husband. I’m thankful for the ability to write, speak, teach, and encourage on a daily basis. I’m thankful for cyberspace–it gave me the opportunity to meet you!

  10. This post is just so beautiful and inspiring πŸ™‚ Just what I needed! I’ve been quite bitter these past few days because of remembering my hurtful past…. I even wrote a “rant” notebook recently and I’m glad I haven’t written down a rant because I’m planning to change it to a “thanking” notebook now because of your post πŸ™‚ I could place it as letters to myself and things.

  11. I don’t know how you come up with all the best things to write about (which I’m thankful for!), because I have been thinking about this a lot lately. It all started with watching the comedian Louis C.K. joke about the technology we have and how much we love to complain about it, when we should be totally amazed at what’s available to us!

    • hahah I usually put in 5 minutes of intensive planning and thoughts into my posts πŸ˜‰

I am glad you like them! I read your latest post and loved it! ❀

…and that is so true! I was talking to my mum today about how there is so much to be happy and thankful for and all we have to do is pay attention! πŸ™‚
